Remembering Frederick Burkitt, killed in action on 6th June 1944. The only information we have found about my husband's uncle, Frederick Burkitt, Service no 4985218, who died on the 6th June 1944 aged 24 was in these press clippings.
As far as we know he was killed immediately when he came off the landing craft on Sword Beach.
